How we can help, and what we need from you

Important

Outside our chapter locations, travel and lodging are on the host

If your city is outside an existing DEVCON chapter location, transportation and accommodations for our speakers and facilitators need to be covered by your office or your local partners.

DEVCON is a volunteer-led non-profit, so we can’t visit every location on our own. Hosts who cover travel and lodging help us keep programs free for participants and sustainable for our volunteers.

As open-source champions, we work with tech communities across the country, not just our own chapters. Tell us what your audience needs, and we can introduce you to groups and organizers who can help, from AI and cloud to design and data.

How it works

From one event to a local chapter

  1. Start your invite

    Tell us your city, your organization, and a contact person. Your first DEVCON event is a free talk from a speaker paying it forward.

  2. Meet our chapters team

    We match you with the nearest chapter, the right program, or another tech community that fits.

  3. Co-plan your first event

    Pick a date, a venue, and an audience. We bring the program and speakers. Outside our chapter locations, your office or local partners cover their transportation and accommodations.

  4. Grow your community

    Keep the momentum as a volunteer community, then apply to become a chapter.
